Relay for Life of Penobscot Steps Off Friday

Hundreds of people will take a long walk in Orono this weekend in the fight against cancer.It’s the American Cancer Society’s annual Relay for Life of Penobscot.The event’s designed to honor cancer survivors and raise awareness and money for cancer research. More than 80 teams will walk the track all night long at the University of Maine. The event starts at 6 p.m. Friday, May 18th and ends just before noon on Saturday, May 19th.Even if you’re not planning to walk, organizers still encourage people to come out to the track and cheer on those who are.
