Maine Town Soon to be the Home of Two Elephants 

An update on a retired circus elephant coming to the town of Hope. She’s now due to arrive this fall, and a friend will be coming along as well.Dr. Jim Laurita has built a state of the art rehabilitation facility next to his home. It includes an 11-hundred square foot indoor stall, complete with radiant heating slabs topped with sand.The veterinarian has been given the go-ahead from the U-S Department of Agriculture and is now awaiting final approval from the state.42-year old Rosie is an Asian elephant. She suffers from a painful leg injury. Opal is also a retired circus elephant. She is showing signs of joint deterioration, according to Dr. Laurita.Both animals are now living together in Oklahoma.
