Fire crews were called out to a home in Brewer early Monday morning.A fire was reported at a four unit apartment building on Hobbit Way in Brewer at 1:55 a.m.Everyone inside the building reportedly made it out safely, and were outside when crews arrived.Fire officials said that flames were coming up the front porch, up the roofline, and into the attic, where the flames spread.”Just getting ahead of it, cutting it off. There was some OSB board in the attic, that is usually a fire stop, but OSB board burns, so the fire had made its way through it, and was headed down the length of the building,” Said Brewer Fire Department’s Assistant Chief, Chris Dore. “So once we got ahead of of it we were able to cut it off and stop it. Took a lot of hard work.”No injuries were reported, but the tenants were displaced. The Red Cross was called in to help them, and put them up with a place to stay for the night. The fire marshall’s office will be in to investigate.
