Opera House Gets Loan to Finish Renovations 

The Waterville City Council has signed off on a loan to help finish renovating the Waterville Opera House.Councilors voted unanimously to approve borrowing $1.25-million.Opera House renovations had gone about $600-thousand over budget and we’re told money that had been pledged wasn’t coming in fast enough to pay contractors.The opera house is responsible for repaying the loan, but since it’s in a city-owned building, city council had to approve it.Opening night is scheduled for Friday, April 27th.
