Annual Garden Show Wraps Up

Updated 3 years ago

The annual Bangor Garden Show came to a close Sunday.More than 4,000 people passed through the Bangor Auditorium during the show’s three day stay.Despite the last day of the event falling on Easter Sunday, the turnout was high, which organizers say is indicative of just how popular the show has become.”I think it says a lot about the show. To me, I’ve always thought what nicer thing to spend an hour, hour and half on Easter than at a garden show, a flower show, and actually see some flowers. You know, we don’t see them very often around here at this time of year,” says Mike Dyer, Director of the Bass Park Complex.Among the many vendors at this year’s show was the Bangor Land Trust. The organization’s president, Lucy Quimby, says they hope their presence at the event has helped acquaint more people with a natural gem that is right in Bangor’s backyard. “We know that people who come to the Garden Show are interested in living, green, growing things, and we have 700 acres of living things, including some absolutely spectacular spring flowers,” says Quimby. For more information about the land trust, you can visit Your text to link…
