Students Field Trip to the Movies to See “The Hunger Games” 

Fans of The Hunger Games book series, including a group of local students, are heading to the theater this weekend to see that story on the big screen. Students at Reeds Brook Middle School in Hampden and Wagner Middle School in Winterport read the books in class.On Friday afternoon, around 160 of those students took an after-school field trip to the movie theater.They were excied to see the popular book come to life. “It’s got action and it also shows an emotional side, you can just relate to the characters especially at a teen age,” said Theri Giardi, a 7th grade student at Wagner Middle School.Some fans who couldn’t wait any longer saw the film at midnight.According to the Associated Press, overnight shows brought in $19.7 million, the seventh highest midnight total ever.
