Fire Destroys Lamoine House

More than 50 firefighters responded to a house fire in Lamoine Monday morning. It started just before 8am on Douglas Highway. When crews arrived the house was in flames. Lamoine’s assistant fire chief tells TV 5 since it was an old house, it made things more difficult. ” The fire spread quickly so there was no way to get a crew inside because it had advanced so fast that we were not able to knock it down inside,” said assistant chief, Stu Marckoon. No one was hurt and fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to a garage. The fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
