Professionals Visit Brownville Elementary School for Career Day

Students ditched the books for a lesson in different careers at Brownville Elementary School Tuesday. The school hosted its annual Career Day.From science to television news, professionals from a variety of career fields gave presentations about what they do in their everyday lives.Speakers in the Netherlands and Washington, DC appeared via Skype for the event as well.”A lot of those careers kids don’t have access to. The other we had was a foreign diplomat out of Washington, DC. There’s no way we’re ever going to get one to come to Brownville, Maine but they could come through that technology and kids could talk to her and ask questions about Washinton, DC and working in politics,” said Guidance Counselor BJ Bowden.Students from surrounding schools also took part in the event.
