Waterville City Council Nullifies Vote to Build New Police Station on City-Owned Land

Waterville city councilors have canceled the plan to build a new police station on city-owned land. Last month, councilors voted 5-to-2 in favor of building the $2.75-million facility at Head of Falls. A study committee had recommended the site. Now the councilors will negotiate to buy the Morning Sentinel building and put the new station there. According to the Waterville Police Department’s Facebook page they are continuing to advocate for a station that is safe, efficient and large enough to house department operations.
