Dr.Seuss’s Birthday Is Cause For Celebration In Ellsworth

There was a seussical celebration in Ellsworth Friday.In honor of Dr. Seuss’s 108th birthday, kids at Ellsworth Elementary celebrated Seuss-style.From reading the classics, like “The Cat In The Hat, to eating green eggs and ham, the kids learned that books aren’t all that bad…3rd grade teacher Deb Arnold says “I think it promotes literacy and it shows kids that reading is not just about sitting down to read but that reading comes in a lot of venues and reading is fun.”Teachers decided to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday as part of Read Across America Day, which is a program that helps kids figure out just how fun reading is.
