The Bank of America call center in Orono is closing. TV 5 has confirmed employees were told Monday that their last day on the job will be October 31st. A source tells us nearly 200 people work at the Orono call center. We’re told the decision to close the center was made after a lengthy review of operations and the closure supports the company’s strategy of streamlining. A company spokesman says they will do everything they can to support the employees and eligible employees will get severance packages. Bank of America has call centers in Belfast and Brunswick.
