Newburgh Firefighters Take Part in Controlled Burn for Training
Newburgh firefighters had a real life fire to train with Sunday.A structure was donated to them by Dysarts that needed to be burned down.Firefighters say it’s a great learning tool. They burned from the backside in.They say this is the time to make mistakes and learn from them.”It’s realistic. It’s a real thing. It really helps the young firefighters to learn how to work in live fires,” said Newburgh Assistant Fire Chief, Keith Miller.They say they usually get a training opportunity like this once a year.
