Canadian Man Admits to Smuggling Oxycodone into Maine
A Canadian man is waiting to be sentenced after admitting he tried to smuggle oxycodone in his pants while crossing the border into Maine last year. Mario Levesque, 41, of New Brunswick pleaded guilty in federal court Wednesday. Court documents say in December he had more than 200 pills stuffed down his pants when he was stopped at the border crossing in Limestone. Levesque told border patrol agents he picked up a package and 300 dollars from under a bench at community center in Canada. He was told if he delivered the package of pills to Caribou, he could keep the money.Levesque faces up to 20 years in a prison and a $1 million fine.A sentencing date had not been set yet.
