Rockland Man Sentenced for Attacking Two Officers

A man from Rockland is going to jail for two-and-a-half years for attacking two Rockland police officers, among other crimes.36-year-old David Carver was sentenced Thursday. He pleaded guilty to assault on an officer, refusing to submit to arrest, drug possession and violating his bail conditions.Police say on Halloween they tried to arrest Carver in a shop on Main Street for outstanding warrants.The officer tried to stop him with a taser, but Carver attacked him.Carver ran off near a construction site where a second officer grabbed him, with the help of two construction workers.Initially police believed Carver may have been on bath salts, but he wasn’t charged with that crime.
