Biddeford Man Shot by Federal Officers in Stable Condition and facing Attempted Murder Charge 

The U.S. Marshals Service says a 22-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot by officers who were trying to apprehend him in Portland.Authorities say Arien L’Italien of Biddeford, fired a handgun at federal officers as they attempted to arrest him on Mellen Street Friday evening.Officers returned fire and shot him.He was taken to Maine Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.He was wanted on a felony arrest warrant, charging him with aggravated assault.He’s now been charged with attempted murder of a federal officer and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon in connection with last night’s incident.He’s expected in Federal Court on Monday.
