The Maine’s Youth Fish and Game Association Hosts Family Ice Fishing Day

Conditions were ideal for a group ice fishing on Pickerel Pond Saturday.The Maine’s Youth Fish and Game Association hosted a family ice-fishing day.They do this every year to help new ice fishers learn about the hobby.The organization provides everything they need, free of charge, including traps and bait.”If their parents have never done this before it gives them the opportunity to come out and really try it out and we’re able to help them out and provide support and really get them to see what it’s like and promote some of our other programs at the lodge.”There was grand prize for the fisher who caught the biggest trout today.There were also door prizes including a lifetime fishing license.
