Medway Man Arrested After High Speed Police Chase

A Medway man was arrested after a high speed police chase Friday night. Maine State Police Trooper Chris Hashey says he attempted to stop a car around 9:15 PM on Stillwater Avenue near the Old Town/Orono line. The driver was 27-year-old Lauren MacArthur. We’re told MacArthur led police on a high speed chase through Old Town and into Orono.State police say MacArthur attempted to run down an Orono police officer who was on foot.During the chase, police were able to flatten one of his tires with spike mats. Hashey finally stopped his car in Milford after ramming into it.MacArthur was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated attempted murder, alluding an officer and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. Police say they found a firearm in the area where MacArthur’s car was stopped. They believe he threw it from the vehicle.
