Literacy Festival Held at Maine Discovery Museum 

Kids were seeing just how fun reading can be at the Maine Discovery Museum Saturday.A literacy festival was taking place, which was geared toward kids from RSU 3, but also welcomes other children.It’s a three day event and has activities for newborns all the way up to fifth graders.Authors, illustrators and poets were on hand. They even did a presentation with IPads and digital story books and telling.” Mostly to bring families in and get them involved in a print rich environment with lots of literacy opportunities which the museum has to begin with, and then we’ve just tried to capitalize on it,” said Literacy Consultant, Audrey O’Clair.The festival continues Sunday and Monday. Luna the reading dog will make a special appearance at the museum Sunday.
