Manna Ministries Needs Donations to Open New Transitional Home for Women and Children

A new transitional home for women and children in Bangor is almost ready to open but needs your help.Ann’s House is run by Manna Ministries and is set to open the first of the year. There is already a list of families waiting to move in.The house will be operated with the help of grants but the funds don’t kick in until the end of January. In the meantime, Manna Ministries says it needs 10-thousand dollars to cover one month of operation costs that will cover counseling, food and staffing.Executive Director Bill Rae says they still need monetary donations, they’ve even received an offer to match it.”The environment is conducive to growth, so conducive to relaxation and to start over again because we’re gonna encourage women to go to school, to get a job, to get off welfare, to be able to take care of themselves,” he said.Students from Husson University pitched the idea to Rae to put the safe house in the building where the Elijah House used to be. To donate, you can call Manna Ministries at 990-2870. Rae says no dollar amount is too small.
