Early Education Profession Project Offered by Penquis

If you live in Penobscot or Piscataquis County and are interested in child care Penquis offers a project that can help you start your own home-based Family Child Care or expand your program. Eileen McAvoy, from Penquis Resource Development Center, joined Jim Morris on TV5 News at 5 to talk about the Early Education Profession Project.Maine Stream Finance and the Penquis Child Care Resource Development Center offer The Early Education Profession Project.They can help individuals: *become certified by the State of Maine and start the business by providing individuals with resources and valuable training. *learn how to plan learning activities and arrange the home for the children in your care*establish a budget and a realistic business plan. *meet other Family Child Care providers to share ideas and develop friendships.The Early Education Profession Project also has some funds available to help you start or expand your Family Child Care business. This project is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and geared to help individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency, and income guidelines apply.
