Now the resort in Carrabassett Valley is debuting its new chairlift that replaced the one involved in that incident. The new Skyline lift opened Saturday at noon. It travels at 3,700 feet in the air with a speed of up to 500 feet per minute. It follows the same path as the old lift.Last December, a cable for the 35-year-old Spillway East lift popped out of place sending five chairs to the ground.
