Hey hockey fans, remember this…game 7, Bruins, Canucks, Nathan Horton, squirting the TD Garden ice onto the ice in Vancouver for good luck? That sports moment is now a part of New England history, and today in Bangor, the Bruins shared that ritual with some younger hockey teams. A ceremony was held over at Sawyer Arena, where Bangor High School was hosting the Riverview Redhawks, a team from Nova Scotia. All levels of Bangor hockey were represented, including the two high schools that play there, Bangor and John Bapst, Bangor Youth Hockey, and Maine Freeze Hockey. The players were given gatorade bottles filled with actual TD Garden ice and squirted it onto the ice at Sawyer Arena to give all the home teams good luck.
