Brewer Comes Back In 3rd Period To Beat Messalonskee

All the talk here in Maine has been focused on high school basketball, but hockey season is also back in full swing. Over in Brewer tonight, two teams with a win already to their credit this year, the Witches and the Messalonskee Eagles, facing off on the ice.The defending Eastern Maine Champs from Class B taking the ice.In the 3rd period, game tied at three, but the Eagles take a lead.Captain Sam Dexter intercepts a pass and then deaks the goalieto easily put it in the net, putting Messalonskee up 4-3.Just a couple minutes later, sophomore Chase Cunningham blasts one top shelf to put the Eagles up 5-3.But Brewer comes storming back to tie it and then Tyler White with his 2nd goal of the period putting the Witches up 6-5.Then with the extra man on for Messalonskee, Spencer Valley with an open net but he falls over and can’t put it in. But no worries, he recoversand gives it to Kyle Alexander who seals the deal.Brewer improves to 2-0 on the year with a 7-5 win.
