UMaine Ice Hockey Teams Skate with Black Bears Fans

Black Bear hockey fans got to join players on the ice on Sunday.Both the men and women’s ice hockey teams welcomed fans to the Alfond Arena to skate with them. The “Skate with the Bears” event is organized by the Friends of Maine Hockey.Fans were able to meet and grab autographs from their favorite players, as well as Black Bear Hockey mascot Bananas.”Maine Hockey is a big part of the community so we feel it’s important to give back and to give our players a chance to meet all the kids and families in the area,” said Coach Tim Whitehead.”They come out and support us every game and to be on the ice with them and get to meet them face to face is pretty cool,” said UMaine Men’s Hockey Captain Brian Flynn.As always the event was free and open to all Black Bear fans.
