Colgan Air to Stay at Bar Harbor Airport Until DOT Finds Replacement

An airline that serves the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport has been told to stay put for now.The airport’s manager says Colgan Air tried to break its contract with the US Department of Transportation in September. The airline wanted to be freed from its subsidized service contract by Thursday. We’re told the contract is good until next October, but the DOT will accept a new airline to take colgan’s place. For now the DOT has ordered Colgan to provide flights until it finds a replacement.
