Christmas is for Kids Program from Penquis

There’s nothing like the look on a child’s face Christmas morning when they see a gift under the tree. A lot of families need help getting that gift. That’s where the community steps in. Janeen Feero from Penquis joined Carolyn Callahan to talk about the Christmas is for Kids program. If you would like to help out: This year is the 30th Annual Christmas is for Kids event. It is the only local an online program where individuals can pick from 100’s of children to sponsor online. They are all local children facing a variety of issues from poverty, homelessness, mental health and physical disabilities, some are living in an area shelter due to domestic violence and other children are in foster care. It is a partnership with Penquis, Mike and Mike and all of Blueberry Broadcasting and the website created by Sutherland and Weston: Individuals can shop themselves for a child’s gift requests, or donate money and staff from Penquis will go out and do the shopping for them. Donations can be given right online. There is an option to sponsor one child or all children in the family. A total of 800 children in need this year. The deadline for gifts is between Dec. 16-19th
