The Maine 3-Railers of Augusta and the Great Falls Model Railroad of Auburn.Both say they love seeing others interested in model trains.”I think America has always had a certain romance with trains. It’s deep in our culture. I think particularly as adults are concerned, you’ll find that perhaps a lot of us as children had train sets,” said Hanson.There were plenty of children on hand mesmerized by the trains.”In part one of the first things I notice is that they don’t get a chance to see trains that often such that when they see these things running on a layout it’s totally fascinating to them,” said Hanson.Folks with the museum say it’s an event fun for the whole family.”These guys have done such a good jobs with their layouts. It’s a really great way where all ages can come together and just be fascinated. I see them sitting there smiling and watching them go round and round,” said Chief Educator at the Maine State Museum, Joanna Torow.Folks can still view the exhibit Saturday from ten to three.
