Belgrade Man Hurt in Hunting Accident

Authorities say a Belgrade man has been seriously hurt after falling out of a tree while hunting on family property.A spokesman for the state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife says 58-year-old William Wadleigh broke his hip and a vertebra in the 20-foot fall on Monday. He used a cellphone to call for help and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.William Wadleigh was hunting deer with a black powder muzzle loader on the first day of the muzzle loader season, which runs through Dec. 10.The fall remains under investigation.(The Associated Press)
