UPDATE: Police Release Names of Men Shot and Killed in Dover-Foxcroft 

State Police have identified the two men shot and killed Tuesday morning in Dover-Foxcroft. Udo Schneider, 53, and Michael Curtis, 46, both of Sangerville were killed Tuesday morning. State police tell TV 5 Schneider was shot outside the Hilltop Manor between 9 and 9:30 Tuesday morning by Curtis, who fled the scene in his pickup truck. The truck was later found at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds and police then got into a confrontation with Curtis. Curtis was shot and killed by State Trooper Jon Brown. Investigators say Schneider and Curtis knew eachother, but are still trying to determine what sparked the violence. Schneider worked at the nursing home as a maintenance worker, and Curtis worked for the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office. Trooper Brown, has been placed on administrative leave with pay, which is standard procedure. The Maine Attorney General’s Office is investigating the second shooting because of the officer involvement. State Police are investigating the homicide of Schneider. Autopsies will be performed on both men.
