Maine Man Accuses Syracuse Coach of Molestation
A man from Maine has become the third person to accuse a long time assistant basketball coach at Syracuse University of child sex abuse. Syracuse fired Bernie Fine Sunday.His firing comes after new allegations from a man from Lewiston.Zach Tomaselli, 23, says he was abused by fine in 2002 on a Syracuse road trip to Pittsburgh.He told the associated press fine touched him multiple times in a hotel room in that one incident.â€œIâ€™m hoping all of this helps sex abuse victims in the future. I hope that through this somehow Iâ€™m able to help them in a way and allow them to see that it’s right to come forward.â€ Tomaselli told reporters.Tomaselli is facing charges of his own in Maine. He’s accused of molesting a 14-year-old boy.He says the abuse he suffered as a child warped his ability to know what’s appropriate behavior and he’s now in counseling.Meanwhile, no charges have been filed against Fine.
