Eight Maine Colleges and Universities Honored for their Tobacco-Free Efforts 

A coalition that promotes tobacco-free policies at Maine’s colleges is recognizing eight colleges and universities for their efforts.The Maine Tobacco-Free College Network recognized the schools at an awards ceremony in Bangor earlier this month.The University of Maine was given the highest rating.The schools were graded on criteria such as tobacco policies, the availability of tobacco-free cessation information, and more.Other schools honored included, Kennebec Valley Community College, University of Maine Hutchinson Center in Belfast, Unity College, Northern Maine Community College, University of Maine at Machias, University of Maine at Presque Isle and the University of New England.
