UMaine Basketball Beats Troy in the Dead River Classic

It is the 19th year of the Dead River Classic. The UMaine womens basketball team has 18 wins and 18 losses in the tournament. New coach Richard Barron playing a bunch of freshman tonight in the game against Troy. As soon as they tossed it up Maine looked pretty good. One of the first year players, Danielle Walczak in the perfect spot and she scores.A welcome back for UMaines best player two years ago. Sam Wheeler playing for the first time in a year… she had concussion symtoms.UMaines top scorer Friday was Brittany Williams, she netted 15.Maine had a 10 point lead in the first half and kept Troy from getting close.Maine wins it 66-53, getting their record even at 2-2 and earning a spot in the title game for the first time in five years.
