Veterans Treated to Lunch in Waterville

It wasn’t quite Veterans Day, but Spectrum Generations in Waterville treated veterans to lunch Thursday afternoon.Veterans from all branches of service packed the Muskie Center in Waterville for a home cooked meal.The veterans dined on pot roast, mashed potatoes, and of course dessert.Organizers of Thursday’s lunch say it’s always nice to thank our veterans, even a day early. “It’s great to hear the stories of some of the older veterans. I think right now we focus on some of the current conflicts that are going on, which is a good thing, but also to pay tribute to some of our other veterans who have so many other lessons they can teach us,” said Lt. Colonel Dian Dunn of the Maine National Gurad.There was a Silver Star Award recipient was among those recognized today.Dorian Begin was awarded the silver star for his service during World War II.
