One woman was sent to the hospital after a two-car crash in Hermon. Authorities say the vehicles were heading west on Route 2 about 3 p.m. Friday. We’re told the driver of an SUV was following a car and rear-ended it.The collision sent the car off the road and into a ditch.Deputy David Quinn with the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department is blaming the crash on driver inattention. “Like i said she realized that she was coming onto the vehicle a little quicker than she realized. She glanced down for a minute and then the next thing she knows, she’s striking the vehicle.”A 70-year-old passenger was briefly trapped in the car and had to be pulled out by rescue crews.We’re told her injuries are not life-threatening.No charges will be filed.
