UMaine hockey is on the road this weekend for two games at 6th ranked North Dakota. So far the Black Bears have played one bad game and one really good one.Tim Throckmorton spoke with the black bears this morning before they hit the road. Brian Flynn – UMaine Forward“Yeah, we picked up our game a little bit after the Friday game not much offence power play sloppy nice to contribute feels good.”Flynn had a goal and four assists in Sundays game with Northeastern.“Our line and whole team stuck to our systems and worked really hard.”The season opener last Friday against Merrimack may have been a wake up call. Not much went right and players weren’t on the same same page with each other. Will O’Neill – UMaine Defenseman“I think on Sunday we came out with alot of energy and focus on what we do predictable and working hard its a good combination along with goal tending thats what we did on Sunday.”Maine has won the last four games against the Fighting Sioux who are ranked 6th in the country. The Black Bears pulled off a sweep last winter in Orono.Matt Mangene – UMaine Defenseman“We know they have some of the players from last year we know its in their mind last year we have to come in mentally and physically tough.”North Dakota will be angry also because they just lost 6-2 to Boston College who is now ranked number one in the nation. UMaine and North Dakota will play on Friday and Saturday.
