MDEA Busts Cocaine Ring In Hancock County

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency has broken up a cocaine ring in Hancock County.Officials say the investigation has been ongoing for several months.Agents say they were able to buy various amounts of cocaine from five different suspects.Forty-six-year-old Berry Young of Deer Isle was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine. Along with 20-year-old Davis Bradshaw of Stonington, 29-year-old Nichole Brophy of Deer Isle, 36-year-old Donald Smith of Orland and 27-year-old Jason Hardie of Sedgwick.Smith was also charged with furnishing marijuana.Twenty-one-year-old Mindy Joyce of Stonington was charged with possession of cocaine.Agents search the home of Young and Brophy in Deer Isle and the home of Smith in Orland.They say the investigation netted more than 100 grams of cocaine, valued at $10,000.They say further arrests are possible.
