A conference in Bangor later this month is designed to bring Maine and China closer together. The Maine Chinese Conference is hosted by the Chinese Language and Culture Center of Maine and the Bangor Chinese School. Eliot Cutler, former candidate for governor, will be this year’s keynote speaker. The conference will focus on education and business.Participants can learn about promoting the Chinese language in our state. They can also find out about opportunities to expand local businesses into the country.Jing Zhang, the president of the Bangor Chinese School, says, “That would be a great opportunity to get all of the information out, experience from speakers who are currently doing business in China.”The conference is Friday and Saturday, October 28th and 29th, at Husson University in Bangor.
