The Maine Coalition to End Domestic Violence honored some Maine businesses that are dedicated to ending domestic violence.The ceremony took place in the Blaine House Tuesday afternoon.Miller Drug owner Bill Miller and the Ellsworth branch of Darlings Auto Group were among those honored.Governor LePage was also on-hand to say a few words to the award recipients. “I commend you all for being here,” LePage told the crowd. “To do what you do in the workplace. I commend you for standing up. I think we need to stand up for women in the state. We need to stand up in particularly for the children of the state who have no choice. Just often times used as a punching bag.”The governor also signed a proclamation designating October domestic violence awareness month.
