It will include a sculpture terrace, a classroom for museum education and outreach and art studios. The Alfond-Lunder Family Pavilion is named in honor of a gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation and Peter and Paula Lunder.Museum Director and Chief Curator Sharon Corwin says, “It’s an exciting time for the Colby Museum, and growth is something that this museum has seen over the past five decades and we’re continuing to grow at a very exciting rate and looking forward to continuing to serve our audiences.”Selected galleries will re-open to the public November 8th. Visitors will enter through a temporary entrance until the expansion is finished in 2013.For more information, go to www.colby.edu/museum.
