Benefit Dance to Help Old Town Boy Injured by Lawnmower
A benefit dance will be held this weekend to help out a little boy from Old Town severely injured in a lawnmower accident. Last month, 7-year-old Chandler Shaw slipped and fell in front of a lawn mower and severed his foot.Friends of Chandler and his mother, Charity, are hoping to help them out. Four bands will perform Sunday at the benefit dance. Money raised will help Chandler’s family pay medical bills.”Her son’s been pretty brave. He’s gone through 11 operations and they can use all the help they can get,” said Theresa Michaud, who organized the event.”We’re looking at medical bills in the tens of thousands of dollars that they’ll be facing. Charity’s a single mother raising 2 boys on her own, so we’re hoping anything that we can do to help will help them out and help Chandler in his healing process,” said Shannon Flavin, Project Manager at Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems. The dance is Sunday from 3-11 PM at My Fork Restaurant and Lounge in Bangor. It costs seven dollars to get in.
