UMaine Field Hockey Beats Dartmouth, Extends Win Streak to Four Games

One of the best athletic teams on the UMaine campus has 12 Canadians on the roster and six Mainers. It’s the field hockey team and they don’t attract a lot of fans. But people are starting to notice just how good this team is after the black bears knocked off 14th ranked Boston College.This afternoon Maine was on its home field against Dartmouth. Rain soaking the UMaine field hockey complex.3-0 lead for the black bears early in the first half. Dartmouth mounts a comeback. Meghan Everett scores off the rebound.Moments later, more Dartmouth pressure. Kelly Hood scores from 15 yards out. The Black Bear lead is cut to one.Head coach Josette Babineau shouting at her team.Something must have worked because the Black Bears rattle off seven goals this afternoon. Zoe Adkins buries the rebound. Maine wins 7-3 over Dartmouth. The Black Bears have won four straight games.
