Dealing with Debt
Dealing with debt is an important topic for the folks and how to tackle it is a frequently asked question. So, I’ve got a blog and a get out of debt calculator to show viewers today.Blog Calculator http://cgi.money.cnn.com/tools/debtplanner/debtplanner.jspBlog- This is a faith-based author living debt-free and the site is called ‘No Credit Needed.’ The author doesn’t give his name but he is in his mid-thirties, has three kids and owes no debt except his house. He lists ideas for getting debt-free, living frugally and teaching kids about money. He posts on Saturdays, and has been mentioned in the NYT and other places, such as Oprah. He talks about recycling, saving money, and he has links to MANY other resources such as other blogs, books and web sites.Calculator- The debt calculator has two questions: first, list the cards you have or the debt you owe, the balance, the min. payments and the interest rate. Second question: what do want to know? Do you want to know based on the minimum payment how long it will take to be debt free? What if you add more money to each payment, then how long will it take? And the last option is I want to be debt-free in this many years, so how much do I have to pay on the cards? And then it calculates. You wrap your brain around this any way you need to. These are just a couple more options that might make tackling debt more doable. Marion R.
