Lawmaker Appears In Court On Gun Charges 

A state lawmaker accused of threatening a news photographer with a loaded gun was back in court Tuesday morning.58-year-old Frederick Wintle of Garland was arrested in May and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.As part of his bail conditions Wintle is not allowed in the state house without written permission from the speaker of the house.After Tuesday’s hearing Wintle’s attorney, Lenny Sharon, spoke about Wintle’s political future. “Well he has to decide that himself,” Sharon told reporters outside the courthouse. “He has to decide whether what he’s gone through will allow him to effectively serve the people that elected him and make a decision with other people that are close to him including party members.”Wintle must now wait until next month to see if a grand jury indicts him on those charges. He’s due back in court in September.
