The storm that rolled through Monday night caused a lot of rain, hail, wind, and lightning.One strike in Garland is to blame for a fire there.Fire fighters were called to Campbell road around 9:30 p.m. The blaze broke out in a barn that had been made into a sawmill.The building was destroyed, but crews were able to save a side structure to the shed, as well as a nearby home and trailer.”(It was) fully involved, flames right through the roof. The roof was pretty much collapsed on one end. So at that point it was protect the surrounding structures and keep it from spreading,” says Garland Fire Chief Henry Burrill.The owners were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure. Corinth and Dexter fire departments also helped battle the blaze.Fire crews were able to salvage some machinery, but the saw mill itself was pretty much destroyed. We’re told the owners, the Amazeen family does not have insurance.
