Fire Destroys Mobile Home in Newport

Crews were on the scene of a mobile home fire in Newport early Tuesday morning.A neighbor on Downwind Boulevard reportedly called authorities when they noticed flames though the trees at 2:30a.m.Crews from Newport arrived on the scene minutes later to find two cars in the driveway, and the mobile home nearly destroyed by the flames.There has been no word yet if there was anyone in the home at the time.The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.Crews from Corinna, Plymouth, Etna, Pittsfield, and Detroit assisted in putting out the flames.
