Earlier this week, we told you about a six-year-old girl battling cancer. The last year hasn’t been easy, but Saturday a local community came together to make her road to recovery a little more fun.Considering what she’s been through, a half marathon would be a walk in the park for Megan Joyce. “The last year and a half has been intense. She had to do some pretty hard chemotherapy for about ten months.”Treatment that’s put a six-year-old girl and her family through their paces.”Part of, you know, going through cancer treatment you do have to grow up a little faster than you want to.”But for a family that’s always hoping for a miracle, one wish has finally come true.”Her wish is to go to Disney World and meet as many princesses as she can.”And thanks to nearly 300 people who ran in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Megan will get to.”Oh, this is so exciting. I mean, it’s really just almost a tear jerker.”The company, PFBF hosted a charity run to raise money for Make-A-Wish, which is sending the Joyces to Disney World this fall.”We all need a break, we all need to just go and concentrate on things that don’t include IV’s and you know chemotherapy and clinic visits and hospital stays. To just go and be a family again.
