Class A track held at Windham high school. First the boys 400 meter dash. Emmanuel Vincent of Westbrook crosses the finish line in a time of just over 49 seconds. Next the boys 300 meter hurdles. Jeremy Collins wins in a time of 40.35 seconds. In the girls 400 meter dash Maria Curit wins in just under 58 seconds. She also set a state record in the long jump. Another record would fall in the 300 meter hurdles. Peyton Dostie of Bonny Eagle finishes in 44.67 seconds. Bonny Eagle wins both the boys and girls team titles.The Brewer boys finished 11th and the Bangor girls were 7th.Class ‘B’ track at Cony high in Augusta. And again the Waterville athletes had a big day. This is a heat of the 100 hurdles… Olivia Thurston wins it… she was 2nd in the finals and the Panthers had 3 of the top 4 girls in the event.We move to the field events. Michael Burgess of Greely was seeded first and he wins the event with a toss of 52 feet 7 inches. To the girls sprints…. Katie Massey of Waterville wins her heat… she finished 3rd in the final… winning the event was teammate Georgia Bolduc.and in the pole vault…. Conner Patrick scored some points for Hampden…. he cleared 11 feet today and that was good for 5th.The Waterville girls win today followed by York and Old Town. The Waterville boys also champs… Old Town was 4th.The class C meet was held at McCann field in Bath. Morgan Reeves of Lisbon wins the boys long jump with a jump of 20 feet, 7.75 inches. The Maranacook boys got off to a good start. They pulled away to win the 4 by 800 relay with ease. In the long jump Grady Markie of Mattanacook takes 5th with a leap of 18 feet 11 1/4.The Maranacook Black Bears took the boys team title. Orono was 2nd. On the girls side, Amberle Bennett from Seacoast Christian comes up with the big throw in the javelin. She would finish first with a throw of 106 feet 7 inches.In the high jump the John Bapst girls with a good showing. Freshman Stephanie Colavito with a personal record of 4′ 8″ and that was enough for 5th. Bapst teammate Jen Daily won the event and the Bapst girls finished 2nd. Traip Academy would win the girls team title…. Orono was 4th.
