Brunswick Naval Air Station Officially Closing 

The Navy is getting ready to officially close Brunswick Naval Air Station.Navy officials, Governor LePage and a representative for U.S. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree were at the base for a ceremony Tuesday.There are fewer than a dozen Navy personnel left there.The Navy is handing off control to the Mid Coast Regional Redevelopment Authority.We’re told about a third of the base has already been transferred or leased.The rest of it will transfer to civilian authorities between now and fall.
