Top Seeds Advance at High School Girl’s Tennis Region 2 Qualifier

The recent non-stop rain has reeked havoc on spring high school sports. In tennis, the Region Two Girl’s Singles Qualifyers were supposed to take place ten days ago.To get the matches in, they were moved indoors to the Bangor Tennis Club.Four seed Shashanna Moll of Belfast serving in the far court. Hampden’s Rachel Henderson with the return. Moll then drops a shot that just lands in-bounds. Moll wins in straight sets.The top two seeds from Eastern Maine are both freshman. Two seed Mea Clark of MDI in the far court. Hits the return right into your living room. She takes it in straight sets 6-0, 6-0.The top overall seed. Ashley Woodside from Hampden Academy in purple. Takes her match 6-2, 6-0 over Charlotte Reiter of GSA.The Round of 48 takes place next Monday at Bates College.
