State Representative from Garland Arrested in Handgun Incident 

A state representative from Garland was arrested Saturday morning on charges of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.Police say 58-year-old Frederick Wintle was arrested without incident, after being approached by officers who had guns drawn for their safety.Police responded to a 911 call just before 9 am, of a report that a male subject had been threatened by another male who pointed a gun at him in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts on Kennedy Memorial Drive in Waterville.Officials say the weapon’s magazine contained two rounds of ammunition. Wintle was booked at the Waterville Police Department.Bail was set at $3,500. Wintle was unable to make bail and was transported to Kennebec County Jail.
